What are two natural processes (other than erosion) that contribute to the retreat of cliffs?

I do not believe there are any...unless you're thinking of subduction of tectonic plates lifting seafloor to above sea level making the cliffs farther from the shoreline. Other than that, only wind and water erosion would do it.
