Sealing an Oil Painting for the Outdoors (wood panel)?

I would put damar varnish and than an epoxy clear coat on top. One thing is that you should let an oil painting dry 6-12 months before sealing it or it may not dry properly. I would have used acrylic paint it is more resilient and almost non destructible.
