For Muslims- are the vicitims of terrorism Martyrs?

strictly speaking, in the islamic sense, a martyr is a person who dies in the way of protecting/furthering/seeking the truth of God's existance. the terrorist is not a martyr, obviously from the above definition. the people who die, they may or may not be martyrs. suppose there are other conspirators among them, or future terrorists. those are not martyrs
